PHOSPHENE
PHOSPHENE
CONCEPT
How many interpretations can emerge from a single reality? What distortions can arise from a unique source? Why do perceptions vary, and importantly, how do they differ? The reception and understanding of an idea are intrinsically tied to individual experience, creating barriers to smooth communication.
Phosphene delves you into the reasons behind these perceptual divergences. What phenomena disrupt our connections? How can we understand that these obstacles are unique to each individual, and how can we overcome them?
By exploring these disparities through a complex visual dialogue among multiple entities, the studio examines all facets of divergent prisms via variations in color, waves, and frequencies and seeks to find an answer to all of these questions.
ARTIST
Isotone
Isotone Studio co-founded in 2018 by the four audiovisual artists Bar Rubinstein, Lilian Guiran, Hugo Fournier and Félix Bonjour, dives into the digital worlds seeking for new creative horizons.
By the diversity of their artistic paths, they try to build a unique way of expressing themselves through the varied skills they rely on. From musical composition, painting and creative coding, they aim to always prioritise the sensitive part over the technical aspect of the project. As poetry will still be their main source of inspiration, they seek to find the right ways to express the intimate emotions driving their projects.
